3.3 Datatypes

The datatypes package is intended to hold only low-level types that will be broadly re-used in various protocols. In general, primitive datatypes follow the rules for Avro itself. These are the lower-level datatypes defined for the protocol. They are only used as fields of messages, not messages in their own right.
